| | | | | | Lose your Home or Stay Unemployed - Have you consider Trading Your Home? Nov 02, 2009 | | | | It is tough job market out there!! Let's face it, jobs are getting harder to get, and they will continue to get harder. In some cases, these jobs require us to move, and frankly, without a source of income, it's going to be even harder to pay the mortgage. There are some people who believe our government will take care of us, right now it has not happened, at least not for the majority of these struggling hardworking homeowners. So, if you stay put in your hometown and you are unemployed, eventually you will be unemployed and homeless. Yes, this is our future! Sorry, we were all lead to believe hope will get us out of this mess, so far hope has been uable to stop unemployment from rising; but supposedly hope has rescued a few select banks (who are now very successful and capable of paying nice size bonuses after repaying their TARP money). Yet mainstreet homeowners are seeing unemployment rise above 10%. Ok, so the american public, have seen the values of their homes plumet, some homeowners were not able to afford the variable resets and some must deal with foreclosures, banks are not lending easily to the struggling homeowners, but in turn are showing a profit to their shareholders, while small business can't get loans to expand or sustain this economic climate; therefore, they are unable to hire and in some cases must let their employees go, which in turn continues to increase the unemployment rate. Ok, I guess you see the picture, this government is not looking after you. So what can you do about it? Look for jobs outside of your town, expand your possibilities - that is if there is no other reason holding you back in your hometown. Yes, I'm talking about you Detroit... It's time to get the hell out of Dodge City!!! But if you leave, you are worried that no one is going to buy your house.... Well, especially since banks are not making it easy to lend. So here is your choice... walk away from your home, just leave .... or ... try swapping it!! If you were to trade your home with someone who is in the same situation, then all is great... why, because in some cases, you can work with a real estate lawyer to figure out ways to settle the difference between the value of the homes and what each homeowner is willing to accept as a difference. The best part is this difference does not have to be in the form of actual currency, it can be anything of value, so long as you are compensated.
